Course description
Advanced training course "Keratoplasty. WET-LAB" is aimed at acquiring and improving the level of theoretical and practical knowledge on modern technologies of through-and layer-by-layer keratoplasty.
Keratoplastic operations are variants of modern microsurgical technologies, the development of which has become possible, primarily due to the appearance of eye banks. In addition, an important role in the spread of such operations was due to the deepening of modern knowledge on the anatomy and physiology of the cornea, the improvement of surgical techniques, the development of laser technologies.The theoretical part of the course includes lecture material on keratoplasty technologies.
The main purpose of the practical part of the course is to master the basic technology of performing end-to-end keratoplasty. The latter includes working with modern trepans, cutting out a flap on an artificial anterior chamber, working out individual stages of the operation.
